1.)    Lie flat on your back with your hands behind your head. Interlock your fingers together and lift your head and shoulders up a few inches.

2.)    Lift both of your legs up a few inches off of the ground.

3.)    Make sure to contract your stomach and bring your left knee to your right elbow, alternate this action between both sides. You will notice that your legs will be doing the same motion as if you where to ride a bicycle.

When you do this exercise correctly you can really feel it in your obliques and abdominals. I would recommend doing these for five sets, for twenty seconds.

Exercise Ball Crunches

A fantastic option for the best exercises for stomach are exercise ball crunches. All you need is a Pilates ball that you can find at any fitness store, or you may find them at your local Target. They should not cost you more than twenty dollars and with all the different exercises you can do with them it is really a great choice to have around the house.

This exercise is extremely simple and will definitely give you the results you will want.

1.)    Lay your back on the ball and simply do a sit-up as if you where to do one on the floor.

Even though I said that it was simple you will notice that it is a lot harder than doing regular sit-ups, you will have to balance yourself on the ball and if your core is a little weak you may find it challenging to do.

These are just a couple of exercises that you can try today. But remember that if you really want to get a washboard stomach you are going to have to get lots of variety and mix up your workouts. Also note that you will have to be working on your nutrition, because without a healthy diet you will be at a loss in the end.
